Coding Bootcamps Case Study

Coding Bootcamps Case Study

Background

KLIK, a DC-based performance marketing agency, identified an opportunity to create a new website to drive organic traffic for individuals interested in applying to coding bootcamps. Looking for support with content strategy and creation, the team came to Agency 102 in late 2020 for help implementing a successful launch.

Bootcamps have gained in popularity over the years, especially during COVID, as many people are seeing the benefits of learning practical workplace skills while enjoying the accessibility and flexibility lacking in a traditional university program.

The new website, Coding Bootcamps, sought to offer an easy-to-use platform that helps viewers research and pick out the right bootcamp for them. People who use the website have access to information about a wide range of bootcamps in multiple cities, subjects, and industries.

Challenge

While the Agency 102 team was excited to take on this project, there were a few challenges to take on, including differentiating the website in a fast-growing bootcamp market. Having to start from scratch, we knew we had to develop a website that could stand out amongst competitors with similar offerings.

During development, the team also had to consider accommodating the organization of massive amounts of information and data Coding Bootcamps had ready for the site. Other hurdles we overcame were trying to quickly familiarize ourselves with the industry including the lingo of various industries and integrating appropriate keywords for the SEO strategy.

Solution

Prior to development, Agency 102 put together a comprehensive content strategy that included a competitive audit of other companies that presented similar information on their websites. The audit was helpful in building the foundation of the website and identified gaps and opportunities we could leverage on Coding Bootcamps.

The content strategy also included a content matrix which helped to map out all of the content needed initially including the anchor pages and supplemental content pages. Working alongside KLIK’s team of SEOs and content specialists, we based all content off their keyword strategy for each page, successfully writing well-optimized and engaging content that ranks well and converts users.

Through teamwork and collaboration, we helped launch a new WordPress website in early 2021 that nicely displays all bootcamp information and data which gives visitors a user-friendly interface to easily navigate and explore the site.
